I worked as the creative director for all of the video content at Bank Director’s 2020 “Acquire or Be Acquired” Financial Conference in Phoenix, AZ.
This project was a unique challenge; we had to create content that worked within an enormous ultra-wide, on-site LED wall, as well as creating 16:9 versions for web. The screen sizes were 13680x1080px and 8092x1080px, so we really had our work cut out for us to utilize such huge and unique palettes. I worked off of some general direction from the client based on conference themes to build out six total videos (and their 16:9 counterparts). I created the concepts, wrote the scripts, and directed a team of creatives over the course of several weeks to develop each video in their different formats.
I really enjoyed working on these conferences because it gave me a chance to integrate several different types of media into each concept. It’s not just a video series or an animation series; it is both, and uses a lot of what works best in each medium to achieve different goals. The ultra-wide wall is also a fun challenge, and one I felt very prepared for from my experience in concert tour and live event visuals.
This collection above features 16:9 versions and the original ultra-wide videos. However, many of the larger screen sizes simply do not translate to web viewing for the most part, and can only really be experienced in person on ballroom-sized screens.
